
Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 and died on September 3, 2019 was an American actor best known for her roles as Blue Denim (1959), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was the daughter of an Irish father and a New England mother. Following her first professional venture as an actor, she later became a child model. She was awarded the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her performance in The Potting Shed. Lynley started her career in film in the year 1958 with the Disney film The Light in the Forest, following by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer Female. She was nominated to the Golden Globe Award again for Most Promising Youngcomer - Female in the year following for Blue Denim.
