JoyceDeWitt began performing on stage at the age of 13. DeWitt graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor's of Arts. During her summer stock performance, she was convinced by the director to apply to UCLA's Department of Theater MFA Program. She was given the Master of Fine Arts Fellowship as well as the Clifton Webb Scholarship. Dewitt claimed she did not meet the actor Abe Vigoda while she was at UCLA. She was employed as an assistant secretary while at UCLA. DeWitt is best known for her performance in Three's company's run from 1977 until 1984 as Janet Wood. This was a job that she got after being cast in the pilot episode that followed. Janet was also in an episode of the show The Ropers that she appeared in during 1979. DeWitt was the only actor to be featured in Three's Company's 1984 finale. She also appeared in an episode on Finder of Lost Lovers in 1984. After that she stopped acting for a long time. Her acting resume included participation in a production of Noises Off at Michigan's Cherry County Playhouse in June 1991. [1] She was also a part-time actress in the film Spring Fling, a 1995 TV comedy. Pinky and the Brain aired an episode in 1997 that featured an actress who was based on her. The voice actor was a different actress. She was featured on the episode Cybill and made a cameo on the penultimate episode of Living Single. Six of her television shows from the 2000s include Hope Island and The Nick at Nite Holiday Special as in addition to Call of the Wild.
